A little over a year ago I finally did it. I finally started a blog. After years of reading great short, long and incredibly helpful articles, tech notes and tid-bits, I took the plunge myself. To let out some of my own ideas, thoughts and feelings on topics, but, to also give back to a larger and bigger community of IT professionals.
I’ve been reading a lot of non-technical books lately. Its a theme that over the last year I’ve been exploring: to start leveling up every part of mind. To not just focus on technical or hard skills. The reason why I bring that up is to do with having a positive influence. I read Dale Carnegie’s classic “How to Win Friends and Influence People” this year and while it was not out there in thinking, it was simple, direct and honest in ways to be a better person, a better leader which in turn brings positive influence. One of the principles is around sharing and giving. Sharing and giving knowledge is the way I took that and Clouduccino for me is just that.
I’m not a particularly fussy person when it comes to most things. I’m easy going and like to go with the flow. However, I am rather picky and have a “theres always room to improve” mentality. Most of the time good enough is not good enough. That’s why it took a month or so to think of a name for the blog. In the end Clouduccino was allot of the things to me. There was multiple meanings and with Mrs Lucian tipping me over the edge on the decision, I purchased the domain and kicked everything off.
Things started off slowly and grew greatly as I really got into a rhythm. It peaked for the year in July/August when at an in-between project phase granted me some good blogging time. Recently it’s been tough to find the energy to get blogging with allot of after hours work (the life of a cloud consultant) working on a huge Office 365 project. I have some interesting content to share including some issues resolved with Microsoft Premier Support that will be a good read.
Where does this go from here? Well, more of the same I guess…
