Microsoft Ignite 2016 (Atlanta) Day 4

What a difference a day makes.

Yesterday I was feeling lost, after I missed sessions I was eager to see, I misinterpreted sessions and had a negative day. I felt as though Ignite was not for me. I felt that Ignite was targeted at a different type of audience. I found out today that it was likely two factors to my problems. Some lessons learned and pro-tips coming up.

I don’t think it was down to this alone, but, I think some caffeine helped me get up and going. Well, it was a number of factors. Let me elaborate.

I stopped drinking caffeine in mid January of this year after some trial and error to try and reduce headaches I’ve had almost all my life. I was a usually a two cup a day coffee person. That’s two strong cappuccino’s though. So 4x shots of espresso. Quite a bit of caffeine to be drinking EVERY DAY.

This elimination of caffeine was helped a lot and I certainly feel better for it and not having to rely on that morning pick me up. Today though, I was determined to get back on course. I made myself an awesome black tea with a slice of lemon. The lemon made it. A small half teaspoon of raw sugar later and that warm feeling of routine got my headspace right. A daily cuppa in the morning was how I started my day for almost 10 years. So getting back to that was awesome.

You’re able to sit anywhere in front of the 8 x 4K projector made mega screen and catch up to 8 sessions at a time. Audio is provided via 8 channel remote. Truly the smartest thing to do. I have no idea what I wasn’t doing this for the first session every day. Instead of running around early morning and rushing, potentially missing a session (list yesterday) catching it all from here is simple and easy. After breakfast in C2, walk across the hall and take a comphy lounge seat and settle in for session #1 of the day. Don’t like it, change the channel and watch another session without having to run anywhere! I wish I had thought of doing this from day 1!!!
